The Original
The ARRI Alexa Plus is the first member of the Alexa camera family. A thoughtful designed digital cinema camera, still going strong since it’s introduction in 2009. Delivering incredible production value at an affordable cost.
The Alexa Plus comes with a 16:9 (Super 35 format) image sensor and original SxS Module that accepts two SxS Pro or SxS Pro+ cards for in-camera ProRes or DNxHD recording. An external recorder is required for ARRIRAW recording. Additionaly this camera offers an integrated wireless remote control, ARRI Lens Data System (LDS), additional outputs, and built-in position & motion sensors.

SxS Pro or SxS Pro+ Cards
The Alexa Plus 16:9 is equipped with an SxS storage module that takes up two Sony SxS Pro or SxS Pro+ memory cards for in-camera ProRes or DNxHD recording. For increased security, the camera can record the same clips to both cards simultaneously (dual recording).
Data Managment
SxS memory cards can be read by laptops with an Expresscard /34 slot, or via a Sony SBAC-US20 /US30 (USB3.0) reader.
For copying your valuable recorded material it’s recommended to use software like Hedge for Mac, YoYottaID, Silverstack or ShotPut Pro that will help copy files to one or several destinations and perform a checksum calculation, comparing the material on the original media to the copies, to provide a minimum effort safety check of data integrity.
